Why Financial Freedom Is Family Wellness | A Jamaican Dad’s Perspective

“When your finances are tight, everything feels tight—your patience, your time, your health, your relationships.”
“Our family—why we do what we do, and the heart behind UltimaCreations™.”

That’s the reality I lived through as a Jamaican father raising three children while building Everykin™ by UltimaCreations™ from the ground up…

The Shift I Couldn’t Shake: What I Noticed When I Was Always Tired and Tight on Cash

When I was living paycheck to paycheck, it didn’t just affect my bills…

  • Financial stress isn’t just a numbers game

  • It’s a nervous system issue

  • When you solve money from peace, your family feels the shift

The Night I Couldn’t Sleep — and It Had Nothing to Do With the Baby

I remember lying awake one night, staring at the ceiling. The baby had finally drifted off. My other two were tucked in, their bellies full and their faces peaceful. But I couldn’t rest. Not because of noise—but because of pressure.

The cost of living in this city doesn’t ease up. Rent, food, commuting—it all adds up. I had a steady job, benefits, and no missed payments. But I still felt like I was one step behind a moving target.

I was clocking overtime hours just to create a bit of breathing room. Not because we were falling behind—but because staying ahead felt like running uphill, every day.

That night, I asked myself something uncomfortable: If I’m doing everything “right,” why does it feel like I’m trapped?

What Financial Freedom Really Looks Like

Let’s be clear—financial freedom isn’t about fancy holidays or driving the flashiest car. That’s what Instagram wants you to think.

For me, as a Jamaican father raising three children in Brooklyn, financial freedom means:

    • Choosing homemade baby skincare

    • Budgeting together

    • Setting boundaries

    • Creating time instead of chasing money

It’s about having options. And more importantly, it’s about having peace.

Money Worries Don’t Just Affect the Wallet

We don’t talk about it enough, but let’s be real—money stress bleeds into everything.

When you’re constantly hustling to maintain a basic standard of living, it changes your household: That’s when I started to see the bigger picture: family wellness and financial freedom are connected. You can’t pour from an empty cup—and money stress drains the cup faster than most things.

They show up in how often you say “no” to your kids…

  • Son’s eczema flaring
  • OTC creams not working
  • Exhaustion and frustration
  • Balm creation as a turning point

From Eczema to Building Conscious Wealth

Growing up Jamaican, the message was always clear: work hard, keep your head down, survive. And I did. I hustled, provided, and never let my family go without.

But no one taught us how to rest. How to plan for peace. Or how to build something that would outlive us.

That’s what I’m doing now—with Everykin™, with budgeting, and with a new way of thinking.

Here’s what we did differently:

  • Treated budgeting as a form of self-respect

  • Practiced delayed gratification (but not deprivation)

  • Cooked more at home and talked openly about wants vs. needs

  • Taught our kids to name their emotions around money and health

And this time, I’m doing it intentionally—not just for survival, but to build a future of peace, clarity, and confidence.

That’s the legacy I want to leave for my children.

Why Natural Skincare Matters in Financial Wellness

Our youngest son had eczema that didn’t respond to most over-the-counter stuff. The creams were harsh. The ointments were heavy. And his skin was still dry, itchy, and uncomfortable.

We started making our own balm using ingredients we trusted: mango butter, Jamaican black castor oil, colloidal oatmeal, sunflower oil. Things our ancestors used. Things that don’t come with warnings.

That became Everykin™, our first product under UltimaCreations™.

But the balm is just the beginning. What we’re really offering is a more grounded way to care for your children’s skin—and your family’s peace of mind.

Because when your baby’s skin is calm, and your schedule isn’t drowning you, you breathe easier. You laugh more. You parent better.

What we used instead:

  • Colloidal oatmeal baths to calm flare-ups naturally

  • A balm made with mango butter, Jamaican black castor oil, and sunflower oil

  • Trusted, clean ingredients—without warnings, side effects, or high costs

  • The ability to treat our baby’s skin confidently and gently at home

  • A small act of healing that helped us feel in control again as parents

Healing Begins with Time, Presence, and Intention

When you’re no longer shackled to the grind, something shifts.

You:

  • Listen longer

  • React slower

  • Plan further ahead

  • Sit in stillness with your children instead of rushing through their moments

That’s family wellness. Not just doctor visits and vitamins—but emotional presence, calm energy, and space to grow.

Financial freedom doesn’t fix everything—but it creates the room to fix what matters.

You Deserve That Kind of Peace

If you’re tired of the grind—tired of running hard just to stay still—I see you.

If your family is feeling the strain, whether through exhaustion or eczema, you’re not alone. There is a way to slow down without falling behind. There is a way to choose wellness without losing ground.

That’s the space we’re creating at UltimaCreations.com.

Our balm is just one step. The bigger mission is helping families like ours live better—skin, soul, and spirit.
